PHILLIP — EV RED FLAG OR GREEN FLAG

  1. Salesperson tells you the $7,500 tax credit still applies to the car you're looking at.
Answer: Red flag. That credit expired September 30, 2025. If they're still pitching it, they're either behind or hoping you are.
  2. Dealer pulls up the actual battery health report before you even ask for it.
Answer: Green flag. That transparency is rare and it should be the standard.
  3. It's a lease return with under 30,000 miles and the manufacturer warranty still has years on it.
Answer: Green flag. This is exactly the inventory flooding lots right now, and it's usually underpriced for what it is.
  4. Nobody on the floor can tell you where the nearest fast charger actually is.
Answer: Red flag. If the store can't answer that, they're not ready to sell the car they're selling.
  5. The used EV is priced within a couple thousand dollars of a comparable gas car.
Answer: Green flag. That gap has never been this narrow. This is the moment, not a sales pitch.
